It affects millions globally, impacting individuals, families, and societies. This review delves into its prevalence, symptomatology, potential causes, current treatment approaches, and promising avenues for future research. It sheds light on the lived experiences of patients and families, highlighting the multifaceted nature of the disorder and emphasizing the need for ongoing support and advancements in care.
