Abstract

- The integration of AI into HRIS has the potential to revolutionise HR processes and improve employee experiences. By automating administrative tasks, providing real-time insights, and enabling strategic decision-making, HRIS combined with AI can transform the HR landscape. This study delves into current applications and future possibilities of AI in HRIS, with a focus on recruitment, on boarding, learning and development, performance management, retention, and off boarding. AI could screen resumes, conduct video interviews, recommend learning paths, analyse performance data, predict attrition risk, and more. However, challenges surrounding data privacy, algorithmic bias, and job displacement must be carefully considered. AI can potentially make HR processes more efficient, thoughtful, and personalised. By thoughtfully integrating AI into HRIS, HR professionals can shift their focus towards more strategic initiatives while improving the entire employee lifecycle. This paper comprehensively examines AI’s current and future capabilities within HRIS to inform discussions surrounding technology adoption, change management, and responsible AI practices. Given the transformative potential of AI in HRIS, practitioners, vendors, and researchers need to continue exploring its possibilities.
